Highway 35 Officially Open In Onalaska

The City of Onalaska held a Highway 35/2nd Avenue Dedication and

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this morning. Onalaska Mayor Joe Chilsen thanked the many companies and individuals that took part in the 5 month, $5 million, process of re-doing the highway as well as sewer work that was done as well. Also on hand today was Wisconsin Department of Transportation Deputy Secretary, Mike Berg and Onalaska City Engineer,  Jarrod Holter.  The event was capped off with a ribbon cutting by dignitaries and residents on Highway 35, which is designated as the Great River Road National Scenic Byway. This stretch of the Highway was voted as the “Prettiest Drive in America” by a Huffington Post survey.
