Bringing Murder Suspect To Lax County Could Take Weeks

The man suspected of a double murder at a La Crosse camera store might not make it to a Wisconsin courtroom before the end of the year.

Jeffrey Lepsch is jailed in Winona, following his arrest last week for the shooting deaths of Paul and A-J Petras. La Crosse District Attorney Tim Gruenke is ready to charge Lepsch with four criminal counts, once Minnesota agrees to transport him to La Crosse County.  If Lepsch does not fight extradition to Wisconsin, the process could move more quickly. A Winona judge set bail for Lepsch at 10-million dollars cash last week.
