Simple, Non-Scenic Design For Oktoberfest Button

Oktoberfest in La Crosse is still five months away...

But since this year marks the 50th Oktoberfest, the event's organizers felt like getting a head start on the celebration. The design for this year's button was introduced last week. It has a simple design, without the local scenery you might be used to seeing on the button, with 50 maple leaves representing the 50 years of the festival.  Designer Phil Addis says it took him only an hour to come up with the artwork. He says he was genuinely surprised to learn that his design won the contest.
