Chief Selection Made. Announcement Soon

A new police chief has been picked for La Crosse.  Not sure who it is yet.   The La Crosse police and fire commission met this morning to select a new chief for the city.  Commission member Doug Happel says, although the commission voted unanimously on one of the three candidates for the job, that pick cannot be revealed until all three have been notified and an offer accepted.  Happel says that process could take a couple of days.  But could be complete as soon as the end of the day today.   In the running for the job: Current interim police chief Rob Abraham, Onalaska chief, Jeffrey Trotnic and Waukesha police captain, Ronald Tischer.
