Chase Lands Tomah man In Jail

A Tomah is expected to face a pile of charges in Monroe County this morning after leading police on a high speed chase last night.

Tomah Police say they were called to a house for a disturbance. Upon arrival, a man entered a vehicle and fled south through the city at a high rate of speed. The driver of the car, later identified as Eric Vanaken, failed to stop for police as they tried to conduct a traffic stop. He then hit I-90 where the chase took officers over 90 miles an hour. After a short chase, Vanaken was taken into custody without incident.  Vanaken was arrested for OWI-1st and Felony Fleeing an Officer. He was also cited for 5 other offenses. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail where he was booked pending a court appearance this morning.
