Police Take Delivery of New Squads
It might look a little weird at first. La Crosse cops will soon be patrolling the streets in new squad cars. Kind of station-wagony looking things.
A small Ford all wheel drive SUV taking the place of the ol' rear-wheel drive standby Crown Victoria. The city has just received the first shipment of the new squads from a local dealership and are waiting for the cars to get fitted with all of the gear needed in a modern cop car as well as the propane fuel systems that La Crosse police roll with now. The new squads cost about 27 thousand dollars new, minus trade. With a total budget of 33 thousand dollars to get completely tricked out. Six new cars have been purchased, with the whole fleet expected to change over within three years.
