Unemployment Rate Up Locally

La Crosse's May unemployment rate has edged up over six percent.   The latest numbers from the state shows the city with an unemployment rate of 6.1% for May.  That's up from 5.8% in April but still half a percent lower than during May of last year.  The lowest rate in the state continues to be in Caledonia which has an unemployment rate of 3.8%.  The highest is in Beloit at 11.6%.  Meanwhile, the state says La Crosse is just one of four measured metro areas in the state to lose jobs between April and May.  But has still added 14 hundred jobs since Mayo of last year.
