UWL Could Be Represented At Polish Funerals

The U-W-La Crosse campus might have a presence at the funerals of two victims of the Polish plane crash in Russia.

That's because two of the Polish government leaders who died in the disaster had studied at the La Crosse campus in the 1990's. One was the head of national security in Poland, and the other was the president of the National Bank. They attended classes at UWL as part of an Eastern European scholarship program. Jay Lokken, head of international studies at U-W-L, says the university could send a representative to funerals in Poland, or they could decide on another way to remember those students.
