Pertussis Cases Surging in La Crosse County

La Crosse county health employees are working overtime to tackle a growing pertussis problem.  The county has 77 confirmed cases of whooping cough since the beginning of last month.  Reasons for the outbreak?



Traci Lien is a county public health nurse.  She says the majority of the confirmed cases are among teenagers.  But older adults lacking booster vaccinations and younger children are very susceptible, too
