Former Gundersen Staffer Gets Prison For Theft

He claimed he was framed by co-workers who didn't like his management style...

But a jury convicted Loren Mundt of stealing thousands of dollars while working for Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, and now he's being sent to prison for two years. Mundt worked less than a year at Gundersen as a facilities and equipment manager. At his sentencing today, Mundt spoke of how effective he was in saving the hospital money. But he thinks his success made others mad at him.  Judge Elliott Levine says people at Gundersen were afraid that Mundt could 'demolish their careers.' Mundt also is accused of trying to intimidate higher-ups at the hospital, including CEO Jeff Thompson.
