Lax Will Lose Its Ash Trees, Unless You Protect Against Ash Borer

It's not too late to protect ash trees in La Crosse from the dreaded emerald ash borer...

But tree owners who do want to treat their plants with pesticide should start now. Gar Amunson, the city parks superintendent, says City Hall does not have a policy on whether to pay for chemicals, or just cut the trees down.

Amunson says if those trees in the city are not treated, they are all likely to die within five years. The ash borer was first detected in La Crosse last fall.
