Family Care Deadline Today
The state received $897 million from the federal government to operate Family Care in Fiscal Year 2011, and if the state doesn't respond to the fed's by today about the program, State Senator, Jennifer Shilling of the state's finance committee, says those dollars could be gone.
Last summer, Governot Scott Walker and legislative Republicans capped Family
Care enrollment without permission from the federal government. The
enrollment
cap was finally lifted April 3rd, but in a letter dated March
28th, federal officials directed DHS to comply with other specified conditions
by today, or risk jeopardizing federal funds for Family Care.
