La Crosse Catholic Parish Begins 150th Anniversary

La Crosse's Catholic community marks a major anniversary.

A year-long celebration of the La Crosse parish's 150th birthday begins this Sunday, with a mass led by Bishop William Callahan. The bishop says the observance also will celebrate the many ethnic groups that settled in La Crosse during its early days.  It's also the 50th anniversary of the current St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral on Main Street, dedicated in May of 1962.
