Kind Watching Posyal Reform Bill
The U.S. Senate this week approved a bill that calls for refunding the multi billion overpayment to the United States Postal workers pension fund, closing post offices nationwide, and cutting delivery to 5 days a week within 2 years. Those that voted for it say it's not a bail out. We talked with U.S. Representative Ron Kind of La Crosse about his feelings on the bill.
In the portion of the amendment that addresses processing centers like the one set for closure in La Crosse, the bill requires the postal service to maintain overnight service for items mailed to another address in the same service area. The House has yet to take up the measure and it may be two weeks before they do.
