City Council Member Wants to Re-Direct Room Tax

Chances are a one percent not-so-temporary tax will stick around in La Crosse. It's the tax that originally went towards construction of the UWL stadium. Now there's a push to keep the tax to help generate more convention center business. But City council member Andrea Richmond is trying her darndest to direct the tax towards something more substantial.  Like towards a fund for building a new community theatre, Grandad Bluff Park improvements or something along those lines.   The city council votes this month on keeping in place the additional one percent room tax.
