Alternate Side Tickets Way Down in La Crosse
It turns out, the ticket writers in La Crosse were a whole lot less busy this past winter season. After the final count from last night, cops say just about 19 and a half thousand alternate side parking tickets were written in the city since November. Nearly ten thousand fewer than the year before. It may be that people are simply more conscientious about where they park their cars in the winter. But other factors more likely attributed to the decline, including the doubling of the alternate side parking fine prior to the season and a parking study conducted around UW La Crosse that left the area exempt from those alternate side regs for the season.
