Primary Foe For Kapanke In Race For Congress

There's more than one Republican running against Ron Kind for Congress in western Wisconsin.

Long-time banker Bruce Evers from Holmen is challenging Senator Dan Kapanke for the GOP nomination. Kapanke's campaign says their man took 94 per cent in a straw poll at a district caucus this weekend. But Evers says in the actual endorsement vote, Kapanke received no more than 60 per cent, and he picked up about 20 per cent.

Evers wants to cut the size of the federal government, and put more controls on spending by Washington. He also backs changes to the new health care law, and wants more tort reform to reduce lawsuits against doctors.
