Alternate Side Parking Tickets Increase in La Crosse
Virtually no snow on La Crosse streets this winter; alternate side parking tickets still increased. Police say they wrote a little over 18 thousand alternate side tickets from November through the end of March. The tickets go to cars that are parked on the wrong side of the street after one in the morning. The tickets are ten dollars, more for repeat offenders. The total is up about one percent from last year, though we're told police began to decrease enforcement of the city's alternate side parking rules at the middle of March when it became clear that we'd seen the last of the city's snowfalls for the year.
