Prisoner 24601 Comes To Zip Code 54601

The La Crosse Community Theatre has a very big show to put on its new downtown stage a year from now...the musical 'Les Miserables.'

LCT executive director David Kilpatrick says his staffers tried getting the rights to 'Les Miz' a year ago by contacting the original British producer, and were turned down. But the company that handles the American rights to the play called the community theatre just last week, to offer the show to La Crosse.

'Les Miz' is scheduled to be the third play performed by LCT in the new building now being constructed on the riverfront. 'Macbeth' will be the opening show early next year.
