Public Works Chair Denies Marsh Transfer Limits City Use

Once the DNR gets La Crosse's marshland, the state agency wouldn't likely return it.  Some have questioned the plan to transfer the city's marsh to the DNR, asking whether that will limit La Crosse's use of the marsh.  City council member and public works board chair, Dick Swantz doesn't see that as a danger

The city council next month will vote on whether to follow through with a resolution from many years ago to transfer ownership of the marsh to the DNR.  The council will also likely vote on whether to spend the thousands of dollars needed to make the process happen.
