La Crosse County Business To Close
130 people will be out of work by August after a company near Brice Prairie closes. ATK Ammunition of Minnesota says most of its operations at Brice Prairie will shut down by the end of May. The nearly 50 year old plant makes gun cleaning products, targets, scope mounts, and replacement gun stocks. The closing comes less than a year after ATK added employees at Brice Prairie, when it brought back a product line from overseas.
ATK is based in Anoka, near Minnesota’s Twin Cities. It also plans to reduce operations at a plant in Fenton, Missouri.
