Grandad Bluff Park Fix Will Go Through Spring 2011

The fix-up of La Crosse's most iconic park will take a little longer than planned. City park and rec director Steve Carlyon had hoped to complete the re-vamp of Grandad Bluff Park this year. Now, it looks like it won't get done until next Spring. The park won't be made safer necessarily, but Carlyon says it will look nicer. The plan is to re-do everything from the entrance to the park right up to bluff's edge with expansion of the viewing area in store as well as repairs to the areas that were damaged by severe flooding just a couple of years ago. The city will spend a couple hundred thousand dollars on the park fix-up.
