La Crosse Council to Vote This Week on Pay and Term Length Cut
Hard to cut your own pay. So, it's a bit unlikely that the La Crosse city council will vote this week to do just that. It's one of two proposals by council member John Satory. Cut the pay in half. Cut the terms in half; from four years to two. The council, he says, would attract many more qualified candidates
Reason for the pay cut? Satory says, it's only fair. Since the council voted last month to cut the next mayor's pay in half if voters approve the plan for adding a city administrator in a binding referendum next month.
