Back Property Taxes Double in La Crosse County

The La Crosse county treasurer's office is willing to work with deadbeats.  Or anyone else who happens to owe the county back property taxes.  And it's a list.  Over two thousand who owe at the end of 2011.  Total tax debt: Over four million dollars.  The treasurer's office tells us all they can do is try to arrange payment plans for those who are behind or--after two years--begin the foreclosure process.   The $4.2 million owed at the end of last year is seven hundred thousand more than was owed in the county at the end of 2010 and more than double the delinquency of 2007.
