Koopman Gets Prison For Woman's Fatal Overdose
Eight years in prison is the sentence for an admitted drug dealer convicted of causing a young woman's overdose death.
Cory Koopman will serve that term after a prison sentence for another crime is finished. Koopman sold heroin last year to Mitchell Perner, and Perner's girlfriend Shelby Perkins died after taking the heroin. Shelby's father, Kelly Perkins, accused Koopman and Perner of plotting to kill his daughter. Prosecutor Brian Barton says there was no evidence of such a conspiracy, which is why Koopman was charged with reckless homicide.
