Herrmann Gets 31 Years In Prison For Traffic Death

The pickup driver who caused a deadly crash near Holmen this summer is going to prison for 31 years.

Jesse Herrmann has been sentenced for driving drunk last June and crashing into a car carrying five young women.  The collision killed music teacher Theresa Kroes of Onalaska...and injured four of Theresa's friends, who all spoke at the sentencing.  Herrmann apologized for the accident, and says he's ashamed of running from the crash scene, although he claims he doesn't remember doing that.  The sentence also includes 40 years of extended supervision after prison, and probation for hit-and-run after that.
