GOP Backs Off Vinehout Recall

Democratic State Senator, Kathleen Vinehout, has had a bullseye on her back ever since she and 13 others left the state back in February to protest a Republican plan to sharply curtail union rights for public employees. Since then, she has been the top Democrat on the republican's list of recall candidates. Until this week.... when the GOP said they have backed off that pledge. Vinehout says she is keeping her ears and eyes open.

On the flip side, State Democratic Party Chairman Mike Tate said that he expected his party to help run recall efforts against GOP senators along with its attempted recall of Governor Scott Walker. He called capturing control of the Senate at least for a time a very real possibility.
