College Debt Load High in Wisconsin but Higher Elsewhere

College students in Wisconsin don't graduate with as much debt as many of their peers around the nation.  That's part of a new report on college debt released today.   Average college debt for Wisconsin is around 24 thousand dollars for public and private students who graduated in 2010.  That's the 15th highest debt load in the nation and about one thousand dollars below the national average of $25,250 for 2010 graduates.   UW-La Crosse  graduates have significantly lower debt levels than that, about 21 thousand dollars for those who graduated in the spring.  Some schools in Wisconsin did not report their graduates' debt load for the report.   Viterbo University in La Crosse is one of those.
