Olsen Becomes Symbol of Movement

There's little doubt about the extent of the confusion on Oakland streets the night Scott Olsen was struck down, apparently by a tear gas canister fired by police in riot gear

That explosion

Was the flash grenade that police tossed into the small group that gathered to help Olsen, the 24 year-old Iraq War vet and Onalaska high school grad while he lay bleeding on the street.   The video from which the sound comes has helped turned Olsen into an icon of sorts for the Occupy movement that's taken over public spaces since late summer.  Olsen is said to be recovering from his head wound in a bay area hospital.
