Unemployment Rate Drops in La Crosse

La Crosse has had one of the best unemployment rates in the state throughout the staggering and sputtering recovery from the recession.

But over the last couple of months, the metro area lost jobs even while the jobless rate dropped slightly. However, last month, La Crosse also added jobs to go along with the lower unemployment rate. New numbers from the state show the La Crosse metro with a 5.5% unemployment rate. The state also says the metro area was one of only four to add jobs during September, up a thousand from the month before.
