2 Local Officers Receive First Time Awards

Onalaska Police Officer James Page and Lacrosse County Deputy, Daniel Baudek, have receive awards that the country has never seen before. The two were awarded the US Justice Department's Congressional Badge of Bravery today (Wednesday) at a ceremony attended by Senator Herb Kohl.

In March of last year, the two responded to a Town of Hamilton home where Keith Marchbanks had just stabbed his wife....set their house on fire while his daughters hid in the basement...then came at Page with a knife. Marchbanks, now a paraplegic after being shot by Page that day, is now behind bars for 21 years.

21 officers across the country are also in line to receive the award this year.
