Taxpayers will get a shot city spending plan

Owners of that hundred thousand dollar home can expect to still pay just a hair under fifteen hundred dollars in taxes to the city of La Crosse for 2012 if a proposed operating budget gets approved next month.  The city's tax levy would remain stagnant for the third consecutive year with only property valuations changing how much a homeowner pays the tax man.  Still, most in La Crosse won't see a drop-off in services, says mayor Matt Harter

Next month, taxpayers will have a chance to comment on the proposed $74 million budget before it gets changed or approved by the city council.
