Sparta Woman Catches Break In Court

A former employee at a Sparta veterinary clinic caught a break in a Monroe County courtroom yesterday. Faced with 11 felonies for fraudulently obtaining about 6 thousand prescription pills from a veterinary supply store.......36 year old Kathryn Watters, will avoid any jail time.

She pleaded guilty to 2 felonies and five misdemeanors......if she stays out of trouble for the next 3 years....the felonies will disappear from her record. On the other counts she will serve 3 years probation.

Over several months Watters, while an employee at the Sparta Small Animal Veterinary Clinic, ordered two different drugs not used by Vets eleven times to supply her drug addiction. She also is accused of forging $4,500 in business checks.
