Charter School Nabs State Award

The School of Technology and Arts II, a Lacrosse School district charter school, was one of 14 schools from across the state named a 2011 Wisconsin School of Recognition.

Schools that were recognized by the state as a School of Recognition have some of the highest poverty rates based on free and reduced-lunch data and student achievement scores on the 2010-11 state reading and math examinations that were above average when compared to schools in similar sized districts with comparable poverty levels.

The School of Technology and Arts II, known as SOTA II, is a 6th through 8th grade charter school that integrates the district’s middle school curriculum with hands-on creative experiences in the arts. The charter school moved to Lincoln Middle School this year.
