Promotions for Police, More Positions to Fill

With some promotions this week, the La Crosse police department has filled
a few vacant positions. But those promotions mean new vacancies. Something
police chief Ed Kondracki hopes to deal with soon by getting permission from the city council to hire actual people instead of just being allowed to fill positions. In the meantime, he's
got himself a new assistant chief. Rob Abraham, 20 year veteran of the
force, son of a retired La Crosse cop, will be Kondracki's new right hand man.  Abraham most recently headed the department's detective bureau.
