Threat Writer Still Not Arrested

Katherine Windels' charges are serious enough to get the state attorney general's office involved. But not enough to get her arrested. Windels is the 26 year-old from Cross Plains who sent threatening emails to republican senators for their support of governor Walker's collective bargaining law. When we asked Dane county DA, Ismael Ozanne today, why Windels had yet to be arrested for the threats, he referred us to state cops. They, at first, referred us back to the DA, but eventually explained that agents simply didn't feel Windels constituted a serious threat. Among the emails that she faces charges for sending, one says, 'we will hunt you down, we will slit your throats, we will drink your blood.' She's due in court later this month
