Task Force on Poverty Faces Elimination Tonight

No need for a committee to fight poverty in La Crosse?

The city council votes on that one tonight. The mayor's recommended dumping the county's Task Force on Poverty. Ironically, poverty's increasing, says Kadie Brueggen from the low-income assistance group, Coulee Cap. And not just in La Crosse county, but in every county they serve, says Brueggen.

Brueggen says, as long as other groups will tackle the issues of poverty, dumping the task force isn't so bad. But she agrees doing so sends an odd message from city hall about priorities.
