Written by

After captivating the globe with an incredible trek up the side of a 25-story building, a raccoon in St. Paul has been rescued.

The raccoon turned into a viral internet sensation with its climb, somehow climbing the UBS Plaza on Tuesday, interrupting work and causing anxiety for some.

The raccoon soon had its own Twitter handle, tweeting at one point, "I made a big mistake."

By Wednesday morning it had made it to the roof of the building, easing fears that it would plummet to its death.

St. Paul Animal Control put a trap and cat food on the roof and building managers later tweeted that the raccoon had been successfully trapped and would be collected by Wildlife Management.

The raccoon was first spotted on a ledge Tuesday morning.
