Fired UW-L prof. pleads guilty to sexual assault of 14-year-old

Written by

A long-time chemistry professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse plead guilty to sexually assaulting an underage girl.

The case dates back almost three years.

Paul Miller entered the guilty plea this week, avoiding a trial, which was set for later this month.

In 2015, Miller was charged with the third-degree sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, who was attending a sleepover with several guests at his house.

Miller admitted to sleeping in the same bed with the girl but denied the assault charge.

The university cancelled Miller's contract to teach summer school after his arrest in 2015.

Miller joined the chemistry department at UW-L nearly 20 years ago.
