La Crosse cracks list for best college town in U.S. UW-La Crosse campus

Two months ago, La Crosse cracked a drunkest city Top 10 list.

The city of La Crosse seems to find its way on nationwide rankings quite often.

In May, it cracked to Top 10 for drunkest city on one website - though most of those cities were from Wisconsin.

This week, La Crosse is ranked No. 19 for best college town in the U.S. with a population under 250,000.

The ranking comes from the American Institute for Economic Research.

"La Crosse is a great fit for so many different students," University of Wisconsin-La Crosse admissions director Corey Sjoquist said. "My hope is that we not only are recruiting students to UW-La Crosse, we're also recruiting students to the La Crosse community."

Attaining the No. 19 ranking was a compilation of a multitude of factors, listed below.
