The YWCA of the Coulee Region will announce a partnership Tuesday morning with Western Technical College that will keep affordable and accessible child care in downtown La Crosse. It will be at the future YWCA Child Center located on Western Technical College’s La Crosse campus.
Mary Kay Wolf, executive director of the YWCA of the Coulee Region says the Y has a long history of child care and nationally the program is common place for their organization. She says this was excellent timing to bring child care back into the YWCA programming mix after some time without it.
The YWCA Child Center will open August 22nd under the direction of the YWCA. The center will continue to serve as a clinical site for Early Childhood Education students at Western. Enrollment for fall is being accepted.
The WTC board, back in January, voted to close the center.
